PT PELNI (Persero) received the 2026 ESG Award in the Miscellaneous Industries category from IDX Channel on Wednesday (July 30) in Jakarta. The award was presented by Rina Ridson, Head of Sales Government at iNews Media Group, to Triswahyu Herlina, PELNI’s Director of Finance and Risk Management, in recognition of the successful implementation of the Upcycle Life Jacket Program, which supports sustainable business practices.
This award reflects PELNI’s tangible commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through a circular economy approach. Through this program, operational waste in the form of expired life jackets is repurposed into value-added products, including shoes made from 70% recycled materials and tote bags, with 100 used life jackets transformed into 50 new products. This initiative not only reduces waste generation but also creates economic value for local communities and partners while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through the consistent implementation of circular economy principles and the strengthening of ESG practices, PELNI continues to move forward in supporting a more environmentally friendly, inclusive, and sustainable Indonesian maritime industry.
